O1, STRUCTURAL WELDER -
Operation Tested / Factors Considered:
Orals :
1. Measurements: Foot, Inch, Meter, Cm, Mm.
2. Identification of Engg. materials : Angle, I Beam, Pipe, Tube,
Welding Electrode sizes.
3. Use of hand tools : Holder, Lugs, Screen hammer. Chipping
hammer, Chisel, Wire brush. Goggles, etc.
4. Reinforcement for different weld joints : Type of weld, size of
weld, number of runs, weaving, bread size.
Practicals :
1. Gas Cutting'.Adjustment of flame knowledge
2. preparation and adjustment of weld pieces
3. Welding in position :
a) Flat b) Horizontal c) Sharp of profile d) Overhead
02. OXY-ACETYLENE GAS WELDER
Operation Tested / Factors Considered :
Testing done on base metal :M. S. Plate 1/8" diameter with filter

3. Layout and marking of components (Pre-Erection)
Practicals :
1. Leveling and plumbing of structural components
2. Familiarity and experience with tools required
3. Making (to drawing), drilling, cutting and bending
4. Gas cutting,
5. Tack welding
Added Skill: Knowledge of Rivetting.
04. ELECTRICAL FOREMAN/SUPERVISOR
01. Preferable to have electrical engineering diploma,
I.T.I, certificate in
electrical trade, RW.D. licence for supervisor, followed by experience in
the particular field, i.e. maintenance / installation and distribution.
02. Abilityto read electrical drawings.
03. Abilityto plan preventive maintenance, break-down and routine repairs.
04. Ability to control stores.
05. Abilityto plan work schedule and control labour force.
06. Ability to solve site problems.
07. Knowledge in use of electrical instruments such as
meggar, long tester, multimeter, etc.
08. Knowledge of hand and power tools associated with this trade.
09. Knowledge of conducting different types attests for installation.
10. Regulation for electrical installation.
11. Load allowed in number of light points or amperes or watts in one lighting
circuit.
12. Full load current of induction motors.
13. Connection of direct - on - line starter, star/delta starter and motor
terminals.
14. Colour code of cables
15. Specification of cables and installation of cables.
16. Method of wiring-batten, conduit/ RV.C pipes.
17. Installation of motors and alignment of couplings.
18. Different types of relays, single phase preventer.
19. Meter connections - Ammeter, voltmeter, energy meter, frequency meter.
20. Series and parallel connection of lamps.
21. Circuit diagram of single & twin tube - light.
